Liebeskind Berlin - take the spirit of Berlin in your bag

I was walking past this store very often while I was living in the center of the city and it has always cought my attention. Their design looked very interesting and stylish to me, so I decided to write a post about this german brand called Liebeskind.
Liebeskind? What is "Liebeskind"? Liebeskind is a german word that literally means "The Child of Love". Liebeskind was born in the heads of three young and ambitious men - the brothers Johannes and Julian Rellecke and Semih Simsek, who the brothers Rellecke met during their studies. After finishing their studies, they decided to become independant and start their own company.
The idea actually comes from Julian Rellecke, who was searching for bags and accesories in the middle price (199 - 250 euro) range and couldn´t find anything. He realized that there is an unfulfilled niche in the market that they could take advantage of. (Not very romantic, but he is forgiven :))
The label was launched in 2003. The 3 young men worked very hard on building their brand while also working full-time in other companies, until they realized that their fashion brand has grown strong enough and that it needs more attention. They left their jobs and started working full-time on developing the new fashion brand which they named "Liebeskind".
Liebeskind is based in Berlin and its team puts all their experiences and emotions that they connect with Berlin into their products. Liebeskind thus represents the creative and alternative, yet coldish spirit of the metropolis. The brand has its authentic vintage-look with a crafty character. It is simple, urban, easy-going, stylish and creative, just as Berlin.
The products are hand-made with finest leather. You can find numerous leather bags, wallets, jackets or shoes in their store, yet Liebeskind is most famous for their leather handbags.
These are their "Berlin Bags" with which they pay hommage to the german metropolis.

The bags are available in 5 colors: honey, blue-grey, bordeaux red, green forest, and beige and have this authentic washed-out, vintage "Liebeskind" look.
Next time you visit Berlin, why not take one "Berlin Bag" with you as a souvenir as well? :)
