Father´s Day GIFTS!

So, the Father´s Day is coming closer and I thought about writing a post about that AND also suggest some nice and cool gifts you could buy for your beloved dad! :)

I asked a couple of male friends (and my dad) what kind of gifts they would like to receive.

My dad, 61 years old said: "Old spice or a tablet!"

A friend, 21 years old, said: "A book. Pocket knives and other outdoorsy stuff are pretty good guy gifts, too."

A friend, 28 years old, "I like home-made stuff."

Another one made a joke and said: "Cars, whiskey and women."

No, don´t buy him that, lol.

I would suggest:

1. Fragrance for men

Fragrance is always a great gift for a guy. I wouldn´t go for Axe or Old Spice though, because he can buy that himself and he probably already has it. I would go for something a bit more "fancy", it doesn´t have to be too expensive. Like, Hugo Boss No. 6, Giorgio Armani Emporio Diamonds, Diesel "Only the Brave" or James Bond Ocean Royal. 2. Deodorants/after shaves

Pretty much the same what I said about fragrances. Try to use similar brands.

3. Tech stuff

Men are more technology-oriented then us women. Even those men who are more on the artistic side are more technology savvy than an average woman. Tech gifts are always great! A new smart phone, tablet, gadgets, weird things that do weird stuff, you know, like measure time or whatever :D Cameras....Especially tech stuff that are also practical, like a waterproof smartphone for example.

4. Sports stuff

Sports stuff is another great thing to buy. How about a new sport gear or a book about how to make home-made protein shakes or a yearly gym membership? A lot of men are also into fishing or hunting, so check that out too! Pretty much all the "outdoorsy" stuff are good.

5. Shirts

A cool shirt in a style your dad will like is a great and affordable gift. You can also make a custom shirt with your own personalized message to your dad. That would be totally cool! Zazzle is a great website for making custom shirts!

6. Watches

Men like watches for some reason. So, go ahead and buy him a new watch! Timex has a really great selection of watches for every occasion.

7. Music

Men are usually also very big music fans. Buy him a CD of his favourite band, a T-shirt of his favourite band, a guitar with an autograph of his all time favourite guitarist, a ticket to a concert or a (rock) festival...You can even buy him a vinyl album of his favourite band for extra cool points ;)

8. Books

If your dad is more on the "bookish" side, buy him a good book to read. A philosophy or politics book would work great! If he is into science, a book by Richard Dawkins or Christopher Hitchins would be awesome!

Of course, you always have to look at the personality of the person you are buying gifts for. So, take a moment and think about your dad. What kind of person is he, what is his style, what does he like/dislike, what are his hobbies, what would truly make him happy. Done? Great! Now, go for it!

If he likes Formula 1 (like my dad does :D) a great idea would be to buy him tickets for the next Formula 1 race. If he is a musician, buy him a piece of equipment, new strings for his guitar or a new guitar! He would be truly happy! The bottomline is, take a moment and put some thoughts into buying your gifts because nobody likes generic gifts bought in 5 minutes. :)
