Spring detox!
After eating so much cookies and cakes and all those unhealthy stuff in the winter (and perhaps also being less physically active than usual), spring is the perfect time to get fit again! Yes, you´ve heard right…spring is the perfect time for a detox! :)

Detoxification is a process of removing toxins from your body. Humans absorb toxins through food, water, and air, but also your own body produces toxins as a natural result of digestion and respiration. Luckily, our body can eliminate those toxins through our mouth, eyes, skin, colon, urinary tract, etc. The problem arises when we eat too much sugar, alcohol, coffee or processed food, don´t get enough of exercise or stress too much. In this cases the body´s natural detox system can slow down and make you feel fatigued or evan lead to a disease.
My first encounter with detox was about 6 years ago, when my boyfriend introduced me to a cleanse that his mother was using and it helped her get rid of some patches and discoloration on her skin. I gave it a try and was really surprised by the benefits. It also seemed to cure my fungal infection.
This cleanse is called Methodrain Detox and it´s made by the company Ortis.

You should be able to find it in any drugstore, health store or pharmacy. It is based on 9 herbs: indian date palm, green tea extract, artichoke leaf, birch leaf, fennel root, dandelion root, burdock fruit and heartsease root, that help eliminate toxins from your body and normalize the functions of liver, galls, kidneys and digestion. You have to buy a 1L bottle of water and sip a small amount of the cleanse in it, shake it and then drink it throughout the day for a month. It helps with weight loss, clearing up your skin, generally feeling better and as I already mentioned, in clearing fungal infections, surprisingly.
Another great way to cleanse your body are green smoothies. Run to your local smoothie bar or just prepare it yourself. It´s simple! :) Take some green leafs (such as spinach, kale, romain, dandelion) add some fruit (like apples, bananas….or peach!) and then add a liquid base. You can use plain water, or if you´re in a mood for experimenting - milk, almond milk, coconut milk or yogurt! Mmm….that already sounds delicious! :) I had to quickly make one! :)

Extra tip: alfa-alfa sprouts! They look really tiny, but they give so much juice and are mega healthy and loaded with antioxidans! ;)

Generally, the reason why we feel so tired in the spring is because we continue having the same type of diet we had in the winter. But the diet we used to keep us warm is too heavy for the spring time. That´s why we should change our diet and make it lighter. Green soups are an awesome idea for the spring time! As well as drinking more water and eating more fruits. Here are some awesome green soup recipes to try out! :)
Working out! Since it´s finally warm outside, it´s time for some outdoor fun! Put your sneakers on and start jogging! Jogging is a perfect activity because it doesn´t require much equipment - all you need is running shoes! It´s cheap, you don´t have to pay monthly membership to any money-grabbing fitness club and you have another bonus - fresh air! There is no better way to get rid of all that fat you gathered throughout winter and to boost your energy levels or ward off depression.
