Rikka Ayasaki - the artist with the power to excite your senses

Rikka Ayasaki

Rikka Ayasaki is a Paris based artist whose work has literally left me breathless. I am generally a big fan of colors and Rikka´s work has plenty of it. Rikka is a contemporary artist originally from Tokyo, where she has worked as a radio and TV speaker, narrator and interviewer. Her early paintings were mostly black and white, made with traditional ink, a technique that she perfected under Master Shogaku Suzuki before moving to Paris.

The main theme of her current work is the color red in a distinctive movement. Rikka uses it to express a variety of emotions. She uses the color red to express passion, and yellow to add depth and warmth to the paintings. She says that her current oil paintings "appeal to our five senses and attract the viewer almost immediatelly", unlike her older ink wash paintings that are minimalistic and must appeal to the psychology of the people.

She is influenced by some of the world´s greatest painters, such as Monet, Klimt, Kandinsky, Feininger, Turner and the very traditional japanese - Ukio. Her inspirations are also Forest de Boulogne, Paris´s Skyline and the never-boring streets of Paris; the landscapes and nature surrounding the daily life, the hustle and bustle in various tones...

Rikka has already exhibited her work in the prominent French art salons, notably in the French National Galleries of the Grand Palais and the Louvre Museum. Her work is held in many private collections by medical centers, famous musicians in France, Japan, UK, USA and others.

What are her plans for the future?

Rikka is of the opinion that the most unfortunate thing for an artist is to not present their work. So, she would like to keep exhibiting actively in various countries. For now, exhibitions are planned for France, but also Germany, Switzerland and Japan for 2015 and 2016.

We are definately looking forward to it, Rikka! :)
